About MATTHEW J. McCLANAHAN

Matthew J. McClanahan is the founding attorney of McClanahan Law. With years of experience in both estate planning and criminal defense, Matt combines a compassionate, client-focused approach with sharp courtroom advocacy.
Matthew is a member of the Order of Barristers, serves as a member of the Agricultural Foundation for Tennessee Tech University, and is a member of the board of directors for TennGreen serving as East Tennessee Vice-President. Matthew is an award-winning national debater and the 2025 recipient of the Tennessee Tech Alumni Association's Outstanding Young Alumnus Award.
Matthew is a proud native born Tennessean and the third generation to live on his family’s farm. His roots trace back to his ancestor and the first governor of the state of Tennessee, John Sevier.
He and his lovely wife Lauren are the proud parents of Adam Claude McClanahan, and the family enjoys exploring “the waterfall capital of the U.S.”
